Can I get SATA to PATA(IDE) converter or PATA to SATA converter ?

I have a computer having VIA chp. motherboard. But it has no any SATA Port. I want to add a SATA HDD in it. Can I get a converter which converters SATA to PATA. If yes where can I get it in Kolkata or in North-East and please inform me the cost.

You would have to add a SATA controller card, your motherboard/chipset doesn’t have a controller built in.

NewEgg and other online stores sell them for fairly cheap, but usually not cheaper than a PATA drive alone. They start at $13 USD plus shipping. If the link doesn’t work, type SATA CARD into the search box.
